About Us

Saywell is a family-run livery farm based near Leeds Castle in Maidstone, Kent. A husband and wife team have owned the farm since 1987, beginning cattle farming shortly after and opening the site up to local caravan clubs a few years later.

Since 2014, the farm has operated as horse stable for liveries in the Kent and surrounding areas on a DIY basis only.

It's a very peaceful and quiet site during the day. Grass is cut regularly, and liveries can enjoy a secluded wild area spot, with lovely views of the farm and surrounding areas

Local activities:

Leeds Castle is in very easy reach and often holds large events and themed shows during the year. It's a spectacular piece of history, the ideal day out for guests and fantastic to visit in the summer time.

A public byway runs through farm itself and continues near to Pilgrim's Way, great for bike riding and fun walks why your horse rests in the stable. There are cosy country pubs to try in the surrounding area and you can enjoy the natural surroundings of the Kent Downs along with a bit of tasty local Kent fare.

"I moved to saywell Farm 18 months ago with my horse after being at my previous yard for 7 years so it was quite a scary prospect but haven't looked back. From lovely large indoor stables, to amazing hacking on or off the farm with the odd cross country jump there is everything we could have wished for. Our new school has been amazing. And enjoy joining in with the weekly/monthly dressage, jumping, agility clinics and more. A wash down area which is great in the summer to bath the horses. Having hay on site too saves liveries the worry of running out in the wintery weather. I now have 4 horses at saywell farm and even tho one is now retired and doesn’t need the facilities saywell has to offer I wouldn't move him from this great yard as his home is the most important factor to me."

"Saywell Farm Stables - a DIY yard with all the facilities and standards of a top class full livery.

I moved my horses to Saywell from years of full livery to be with a family member and enjoy the rural location that this yard has to offer away from busy roads.

Saywell which is a former racing yard is immaculate which is down to the collaborative working of the manager Kelly and Owen the owner who take pride in keeping it in tip top condition.

Beautiful stable block, newly surfaced school, horse walker, horsebox standing And individual turnout are all on offer plus well maintained bridleways and quiet country lanes from which to enjoy my horse.

The liveries enjoy a friendly and supportive environment, organising instructors, clinics and shows for all.

The local feed merchants deliver to my individual storage area and good quality hay is provided and topped up by Owen as soon as I get low.

It’s a win win for me. Kelly the farm manager assists me with morning turnout and any other times i need her due to work commitments and I get to look after my boy the rest of the time.
